2026, NYU SHANGHAI, CHINA

INTERACTIVE INSTALLATION, MERCHANDISE DESIGN

IMA Global Low Residency @ NYU Shanghai

In a world where small joys transcend and become stars in a vast galaxy, guests are invited to explore a collection of my delights in the form of hand-drawn animations and multimedia collages. This project asks people to spend more time appreciating the small things that may bring a smile or a laugh while going through daily life.

The installation is made up of a floor projection and a wall projection running 2 scenes at once, connected in the background. Participants will walk to a specific constellation on the floor projection and it will appear on the main wall along with a random delight from that particular category. This project uses the Microsoft Xbox Kinect Azure for body tracking and is created using TouchDesigner.

After playing with the main projection installation, guests will be asked to write a delight of their own on a strip of paper to be folded into origami stars. As a participation gift, they may take home an acrylic keychain of a magic wand designed by me and manufactured for the Thesis 26 event.

MIDNIGHT COUTURE

2026, FREELANCE (REMOTE)

PROJECT ORGANIZATION, CONTENT DIRECTION, MERCHANDISE DESIGN

Midnight Couture: A Persona 3 Fashion Zine

Co-organized non-profit digital fanzine for the Persona 3 video game by Atlus and the theme of fashion. Zine book and merchandise were all digital. Proof of donation was necessary for purchase. Total of $1,414.99 USD in proceeds to the charities: UNRWA, The Trevor Project, Ocean Conservancy, Immigrant Defense Project, and Doctors Without Borders.

Led content direction for the book with the goal of evoking the nostalgia for 2010s fashion magazines in between the pages of featured artworks. Extra contents include: Horoscopes, Hot Trends, “Celebrity” Interviews, Must-Buy Items, and parody advertisements. Responsible for copywriting and written content of the extra pages (artwork assets provided by co-organizer say0ran and other contributor artists).

Co-formatted the book using Adobe InDesign to create an interactive PDF file with working internal and external links that looked appealing and reminiscent of the nostalgic 2010s fashion magazine.

Designed and created the site containing information about the zine and how to acquire it when launched. Deliberately designed to mimic web design of Japanese fashion magazines from the 2010s but adjusted slightly for visual clarity. Designed parody advertisements for sidebar banners using assets provided by a co-organizer.

FACES OF COMFORT

2026, NYU BERLIN,  GERMANY

INTERACTIVE INSTALLATION, BODY-TRACKING

IMA Global Low Residency @ NYU Berlin

Done in collaboration with Chioma Obaji for the course Live Bodies using TouchDesigner.

This project was part of the class’s overarching theme of “Home” and assigned to the bedroom. It was part of a live installation at Dock 11 for the IMA Low Res Winter Show 2026. Guests would be invited to participate in the experience after the project was “activated” by Katie, the performance before. After running through several participants would end and activate the next performance.

Guests will be invited one by one to sit in front of a webcam which will capture their face and project the scene onto the curtains behind the bed. The scene will shuffle through different illustrated masks with a distorted effect.

WORLD DUMPLING INDEX

2025, NYU (remote)

WEB EXPERIENCE, ILLUSTRATION

IMA Global Low Residency @ NYU Tisch (remote)

Done in collaboration with Levi Villareal for the course Connections Lab.

Every country seems to have its own version of a dumpling, and World Dumpling Index was created with the intentions of highlighting those dumplings AND attempting to stretch the definition of a dumpling. Where do you draw the line? The site features an interactive map made with D3.js. Users may vote on whether a listed dish is considered a dumpling or not. The votes are stored in a database using Firebase.

Illustrated over 160+ “dumplings” and dumpling dishes for the initial project launch. Animated a small recipe card box opening for the landing page. Plans to continue exist from both contributors.

INTERACTIVE INSTALLATION, WEB EXPERIENCE, ILLUSTRATION

IMA Global Low Residency @ NYU Tisch

A collection exploring the artist’s personal struggles with identity through the use of the cyborg and nature vs. technology themes. The collection includes decorative headphone covers, a digital web-based dress-up game, and a physical add-on scanning toy to go with the game.

The game remixes the idea of paper dress-up dolls and dress-up games into a web experience that responds to physical toy items. Guests can customize the character on screen using both the mouse to click options or scan the relevant toy piece. The scanning utilized NFC stickers on the back of the toy pieces and an NFC scanner module attached to an Arduino Uno.

Visual design of the collection refers to a fictional laboratory and features personal ramblings regarding the struggles of identity in a fictional language, preventing the guests from further understanding the character and its world.

Implemented a layered carving technique to define the images of mountains, clouds, and trees on the side of bowl B.

**While these sets were photographed with the gummy sold by Sundae Flowers, the commission was from Sundae School (clothing) with the intention of donating proceeds to Immigrant Defense Project. The artist has never partaken and does not condone the use of such products.

WINDS OF BLESSING TOTE BAG & WASHI TAPE

2025, FREELANCE (REMOTE)

MERCHANDISE DESIGN, ILLUSTRATION

Winds of Blessing: An AkeShuAke Travel Zine

Invited as a guest merchandise artist.

Designed and illustrated a tote bag and washi/deco tape featuring the project’s 2 main characters. Both pieces were reach-goals that required a minimum number of total orders for production to succeed. Fans worked hard to reach the minimum order count which allowed for the production of the tote bag and the deco tape.

Tote bag was designed with the intention of satisfying both fans who want to show off their interests and fans who prefer subtlety. Fan merchandise apparel and accessories are often too blatant with its branding which may make the wearer feel embarrassed or too shy to wear comfortably when out. Whie the tote bag aims to satisfy both types of fans, the bag leans towards subtle references rather than obvious imagery. One side of the tote bag features iconography familiar to fans of the video game and these characters in a “map” or journey route whereas the other side features an airmail envelope on the pocket with smaller references of the characters.

Washi tape was designed to emulate stamps from various countries that were featured in the artwork submitted by the book page artists. It aimed to highlight at least 1 country per continent, but featured Asia the most since the original video game setting was set in Japan. Designing the stamps required researching hours on a stamp archive website for each country and discussing with the corresponding artist regarding translation and localization.

Winds of Blessing is a non-profit fan community project which raised $2,495 USD for Doctors Without Borders (Medicins Sans Frontieres).

GENERAL MERCHANDISE DESIGN

2025 - PRESENT, FREELANCE (REMOTE)

MERCHANDISE DESIGN, ILLUSTRATION
Various merchandise designs for personal use

Designs and illustrates the artwork for the merchandise and purchase in a large group-order (MargalitaGO) to produce the items with manufacturers in China.

IMA Low Res Class of 2026 (referred to as “Fungi Cohort”)

Designed with the school colors (purple and white) in mind. The memory card keychain is inspired by the group’s draw towards nostalgic technology and yearning for physical over digital in an era of notification fatigue.

Pudding charm was designed with sillier intentions and features a more cartoon-y style of graphic. Pudding inside is removable and many of the cohort members began to use it as a stress relief toy.

Star wand acrylic charms were for Little Daelights thesis project. Done without MargalitaGO and produced directly from manufacturers in Shanghai referred by a classmate.

Fan Merchandise

Created with gifting/exchange intent or personal use between friends and fellow fans. Not for profit and motivated by a want to gain experience with production and product design/manufacturing.
